This is one of my favorite Ray Stevens songs! I think it’s hilarious! Most of us remember trying to be on our best behavior during the Christmas season in hopes of receiving all the gifts on our Christmas wish list. However, that inevitably leads to the question of how Santa knows what every child in the world has been doing. This funny song explores the idea that Santa is truly the “secret head of the CIA” and that Rudolph is “on a stakeout at your house.”
Ray also pokes humor at the idea that even adults have to be concerned about Santa’s opinion of their behavior, including an especially funny twist at the end.
